Therapists for college students near University of Colorado Boulder
Hi there! I’m Erin Hernandez and I am a licensed psychotherapist (LPC). I believe that our bodies are a vehicle for our spirit. It is our human right to feel safe, loved and seen as who we really are. When we feel these three things we are able to fully inhabit our vehicle (our body) and use it for transformation. I am not currently accepting insurance. Please check here or my website for session rates. I offer free 15 minute phone or zoom consultations and you can schedule that through my website. When scheduling your consultation, please email or text me if you prefer your consultation to happen over zoom.

Have you ever wondered what therapy could be like using art materials and activities? I support college students and young adults use the power of creativity to process emotions, gain insight, work through challenges, and overcome hardships through transformative art. My style is relational, collaborative, and mindful. My clients describe me as: Grounded, relatable, supportive, humorous, comforting, non-judgmental, and patient. Using materials like paint, clay, and pastel, you'll explore your emotions, build self esteem, take healthy risks, problem solve, and sometimes just play and discover! You'll also practice coping skills, mindfulness, body awareness, relational skills, boundary setting, identifying/processing/regulating emotions, & dive into how your thoughts, feelings, and actions are connected. I personally know what it’s like to deeply struggle through teen and young adult years. And I know what it’s like to receive help, work through it, and come out on the other side empowered. If you're reading this and it sounds like a good fit, then I will likely feel that way too. 1st step: Reach out for a free consult call - I'd love to hear more about you!

Sometimes you look around and it feels like everyone else has it together. They're confident, focused, and appear to have it together, while you're crashing out behind the scenes, trying to keep up but feeling overwhelmed or disconnected. As a therapist, I've learned that so many of the things we keep hidden are actually shared human experiences. The part of you that pushes you to do everything perfectly, the part that procrastinates, the part that shuts down completely, the parts that hurt you physically--these are all trying to protect you in their own way. I'll be here with you as you begin to understand and find compassion for these parts, moving towards the wise, curious, and creative part of you that was always there. I have had the most success in working with those who struggle with academic stress, self-esteem, perfectionism, self-harm, suicidality due to anxiety and depression, and phobias. Please reach out, and we can discuss your fit with me as your therapist.

My ideal female clients are independent, driven, and highly capable individuals, who feel disconnected from their true selves. They are successful in their careers and relationships, but feel something is missing. They often experience dissatisfaction, burnout, or unfulfilled potential because they are stuck in patterns that don’t align with their true desires or values. These women may feel like they are wearing a mask—pretending to be someone they’re not in different situations, whether it’s at work or in their personal lives. They’re often navigating relationship challenges, struggling with unhealthy dynamics, or feeling unfulfilled in their careers. They seek clarity, support, and guidance to uncover who they truly are, reconnect with their authentic selves, and build deeper, more meaningful relationships. Their primary goal is to break free from the patterns that keep them feeling stuck, develop a sense of fulfillment, and experience genuine connection both with themselves and others. They want to stop hiding behind a facade and start living life on their own terms—feeling empowered, authentic, and aligned with their values. Ultimately, these women want to create a life that feels true to them—a life that is full of joy, confidence, and deeper connection with others. Through therapy, they want to explore their true desires, heal from past patterns, and step into a life that’s fully aligned with who they are.
