Accepting new clients! *(as of 9/2/26)* Your mental health matters. Whether you are struggling with roommate, relationship, or academic stress and anxiety, or something deeper and more prolonged, I offer creative and empathetic counseling services to meet you where you are. I am here to help you foster self-awareness, self-compassion, and confidence. We live in an especially stressful time, and we all need extra support. There is no one-size fits all approach to therapy, so I utilize an empathetic, person-centered approach, bringing in tools from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Parts work, DBT, and CBT where appropriate. Together, we will develop goals and a treatment plan to help you become the best version of yourself.

Eudaimonia
Eudaimonia is a professional mental health practice. We are helping individuals improve their overall well-being through introspection, education, skills-building, therapy, and medication. We recognize that wellness looks different for each individual, so we tailor our approach to suit each client's specific needs. Our wellness practice strives to be a space where patients are comfortable providing some of their most intimate thoughts to their clinicians and reassured by the fact that they are receiving quality care. We hope that through teamwork—a combination of our clinicians’ extensive knowledge in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, and the medical factors contributing to how one feels and our patients’ doing the hard work of investing in themselves—positive outcomes will be assured. Our treatment philosophy involves evidence-based mental wellness services that start with therapy and incorporate comprehensive medication management if indicated. While based in the greater DC Metropolitan Area, clinicians hold licenses in AL, AZ, DC, FL, IL, MD, MT, ND, NE, PA, VA, and WI and are available to see patients throughout those states via telepsychiatry. For those with UnitedHealthcare StudentResources insurance (Georgetown University, University of Maryland, & University of Florida), your co-pay is only $10 per session.

Veterinary Social Work, Nature-Informed Therapy & Walk-and-Talk Sessions. 🌳🐕🦆🦌 Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, deeply caring, compassionate individuals who have spent so much energy taking care of others, meeting high expectations, and holding everything together that they've lost touch with themselves. They are the caregivers, changemakers, student leaders, and community builders. Too often, natural helpers arrive feeling burned out, anxious, overwhelmed and physically exhausted. They look at their lives and realize they no longer recognize themselves. I believe people have an incredible capacity to heal, adapt, and grow. Therapy is a collaborative process where we slow down, make sense of what's been weighing on you, and reconnect with what matters most. You set the pace. My work is grounded in the belief that healing happens through connection - with ourselves, with other people, with animals, and with the natural world around us. This perspective is informed by One Health, which recognizes that human, animal, and environmental well-being are deeply interconnected. I offer therapy in-office, online, and through Nature-Informed Therapy and Walk-and-Talk sessions when clinically appropriate at various locations in the Delaware River Valley's Mercer-Bucks Region. Nature-informed therapy is always an invitation, never an expectation. For some people, movement and time in nature creates space to reflect, regulate, and reconnect. Others prefer the comfort of an office or telehealth. Together, we'll find the approach that feels right for you. As an NYU-trained Veterinary Social Worker, I also provide specialized support for veterinary students, compassion fatigue, animal companion loss and grief, Emotional Support Animal (ESA) evaluations and letters when clinically appropriate, and anyone whose relationship with an animal has profoundly shaped their life. These relationships deserve to be recognized and honored. Whether you're navigating burnout, anxiety, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, grief, identity questions, relationship challenges, or simply the feeling that you've lost yourself while caring for those around you, therapy offers a place to reconnect with yourself, your relationships, and the life you want to create. *I offer psychotherapy through both insurance-based and private-pay practice settings. Traditional office-based and telehealth services may be available through insurance. Specialized outdoor services, including Nature-Informed Therapy and Walk-and-Talk sessions, are offered through my private practice. Clients are encouraged to inquire about fees and verify any potential reimbursement with their insurance provider.* If you are enrolled in the Princeton University Student Health Plan (SHP), please use the following link to schedule your consultation. https://positivemindcounseling.clientsecure.me

Being Counseling LLC
Maybe you can't focus in class. Maybe you're more irritable than usual, sleeping badly, or pulling away from people. Maybe something ended, like a relationship, a sport, a friendship, or the person you were in high school, and nobody around you would call it a loss. College asks you to figure out who you are while performing at a high level, often far from the people who knew you best. When that gets heavy, it usually shows up as anxiety, low motivation, or anger before it looks like anything else. I'm a licensed professional counselor and a Penn State faculty member. I specialize in grief and in the losses people don't get permission to grieve: changes in identity, belonging, and the sense that you matter to the people and places around you. I work with students of any gender, and I have particular experience with men who were taught to handle things on their own. We'll start with what's actually happening for you now. Then we'll build practical skills and a clearer sense of where you're headed. My approach: I combine Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) with the basics that shape mental health: sleep, movement, and connection. I track progress with brief standardized check-ins, so you can see whether things are changing. I'm also certified in Nature Informed Therapy. Some sessions can happen outdoors as walk-and-talk sessions in the State College area. Many students find it easier to talk while walking side by side than while sitting across from someone in an office. Questions students often ask: Do you take insurance? I'm a private-pay, out-of-network provider. If your plan has out-of-network benefits, I can give you a superbill to submit for possible reimbursement. Paying directly also means no insurance claim is filed unless you choose to submit one. Reach out and we can talk through cost before you commit. My problem doesn't feel serious enough for therapy. You don't need a diagnosis or a crisis to start. Many students come in because something feels off and they want to address it before it affects their grades, relationships, or health. I've been to CAPS. How is this different? Off-campus counseling can continue beyond a set number of sessions or a single semester. It also allows for specialized work on grief, loss, and identity. What happens in the first session? We'll talk about what brought you in and what you want to be different. We'll also complete a few short questionnaires that give us a baseline. You'll leave with a sense of whether we're a good fit and what the next steps would be. Can we meet outside? Yes. Walk-and-talk sessions are available, depending on weather and your preference. Is this for emergencies? No. If you're in crisis, call or text 988, contact Penn State CAPS crisis services, or go to the nearest emergency room.

You should never have to justify your identity to a provider. As a therapist with nearly 20 years experience, I provide culturally competent, compassionate, trauma-informed, and affirming psychotherapy to help you make decisions about your own life. Whether you are transgender, lesbian, gay, bisexual, nonbinary, genderqueer, gender nonconforming, kinky, queer, questioning, pansexual, asexual, detransitioner/retransitioner, Dominant, submissive, kinky, into BDSM, a sex worker, monogamous, polyamorous, neurodivergent, neurospicy, neurotypical, or unicorn... even cisgender, straight/hetero, or vanilla… our goal together is your happiness. In service to our communities, I have volunteered on Boards of Directors, committees, and elsewhere, made several hundred (300+) educational and other public appearances including workshops at conferences, lectures in colleges and universities, appearances in the media, and elsewhere. I have also written books and articles. This has largely been pro-bono activism, advocating for the rights and healthcare of gender and sexually diverse communities. We can be defiant against the current physical and legislative assaults on our identities where ‘they’ bully the vulnerable, inciting hate, violence, fear, and despair. If you, like so many are distressed about the current world… I can provide support and hope. We are fierce. And we deserve joy. As a therapist, I'm like a cup of coffee: Warm, comforting, and wakes you up! I want to work with you to break free from the confines of unhelpful narratives and patterns. My clients feel more empowered in their actions and relationships instead of letting their emotions run the show or being overrun by unhelpful thoughts and behaviors. It’s always a good session when my clients feel challenged and motivated to be more accepting of what they can't change while moving toward their values, even if it's hard. I’m a big believer in “trying on” more helpful ways of being and thinking, so I use a direct and encouraging approach. I'm a therapist with Octave and Evernorth Behavioral Care Group. The people I work best with usually have one thing in common: they've tried explaining how they feel and it never quite came out right. Maybe you've been in therapy before and spent the whole hour narrating your week. Maybe you're anxious in a way that's hard to point at. Maybe you're autistic or have ADHD and every space you've been in asked you to be a slightly different person. Maybe something happened and you're still carrying it. You don't have to arrive with the words already sorted out. That's usually where we start.
