Alongside therapeutic work, I am passionate about the different tools that we can use in order to initiate holistic healing, including things like: nutrition, meditation, exercise, community, spiritual practices, 12-step programs, rest and fun (yes-even fun)! I particularly enjoy working with clients through the following: establishing boundaries, relational issues, differentiation from family, adult children of divorce, adult children of alcoholics and dysfunctional families, those who have a loved one with mental illness, life transition, grief, premarital, and couples seeking to improve their communication. I welcome you to my office to explore your struggles, to change what you can, to accept and grieve what you can't and to celebrate the good that comes along the way.

Corisa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, and attachment ruptures/issues. She earned her master’s degree from the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 2020 and has worked in the trauma field in nonprofit settings since 2015. She has worked with the Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence, The Sexual Assault Center, and Catholic Charities of Middle Tennessee providing crisis support as well as trauma-focused treatment for children, teens, adults, and families. Corisa offers services in both English and Spanish and is licensed in Tennessee, Colorado, and Washington state. Corisa brings a sense of ease, compassion, and humor to her sessions. She offers supportive and non-judgmental observations as well as strengths-based support for her clients. She enjoys working with clients of all identities and values each person’s lived experience. Corisa’s goal is to offer a therapeutic space of connection and always aims to move at the client’s own pace to tap into the resiliency and capacity for growth that resides within them. Whether clients are wanting to grow their skills in coping with life’s many challenges, to know themselves more fully, or to seek healing from trauma, Corisa is glad to meet clients in this space and feels honored to be able to collaborate with individuals and families on their therapy journey. Corisa is an EMDR certified clinician and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SE) that is also trained in Theraplay, CPC-CBT, TF-CBT and often integrates elements of parts work (IFS), sandplay, play therapy, and other attachment, trauma-informed, and brain and body connecting approaches that best meet clients where they are. She believes that the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist is an integral part of the therapeutic journey and having a good fit where clients feel safe, comfortable, and respected is of the utmost importance to her. When not in session, Corisa can be found practicing yoga at her neighborhood studio, birding in a local park, taking in a new independent film, or off exploring local restaurants and dives. Outside of that, she loves spending time outside as often as possible and is always planning her next travel destination with friends or with her partner in their built-out transit van.

Most of the students I work with are figuring out who they are while juggling school, family, friendships, and their future. Many feel the weight of being “the strong one” for everyone else, but behind closed doors they’re tired, anxious, or questioning if they’re enough. Some are navigating being away from home for the first time, carrying family expectations, or balancing the pressure to succeed with the need to just breathe. Others feel out of place on campus and want a space where they don’t have to explain themselves or code-switch. I connect best with young people under 25 who are ready for honest conversations, who value a therapist that will both listen deeply and challenge them to grow. My goal is to give you room to unpack your story, understand your emotions, and figure out how to move through stress, relationships, and identity with more clarity and confidence.

College can be one of the most exciting—and overwhelming—seasons of life. Between academic pressure, changing friendships, family expectations, relationships, and figuring out who you are, it’s easy to feel stressed, anxious, or unsure of yourself. You don’t have to navigate that alone. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 10 years of experience supporting teens and young adults through life’s transitions. My approach is strength-based and relationship-focused, meaning I see you as more than your stress, anxiety, or struggles. Together, we’ll build on the strengths you already have while developing practical tools to help you manage overwhelming thoughts, regulate emotions, and feel more confident in your decisions. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness strategies to help you better understand your thought patterns, cope with stress, and respond to challenges in healthier ways. My style is laid back, supportive, and collaborative—I want therapy to feel like a safe space where you can be honest, ask hard questions, and explore who you’re becoming without judgment. Whether you’re feeling anxious about school, struggling with motivation, dealing with relationship conflict, navigating self-worth, or simply feeling stuck, I’m here to walk alongside you as you build clarity, resilience, and confidence in this season of life.

Sometimes it's tough to go it alone. It takes a lot of courage to reach out for help and support, whether we're dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, gender identity, sexual orientation, or general life stress. Kudos to you for taking the first step. I work primarily with adolescents and young adults, and together we figure out a plan on how to move through whatever's going on. You know more than you think you do - and we will navigate the challenges together.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes therapy should feel safe, human, and a little less intimidating. I earned my MSW from the University of Memphis and have worked in a variety of settings, including clinics, schools, and residential programs. I offer a warm, down-to-earth space where you can talk openly, at your own pace, without judgment. Together, we’ll focus on what matters most to you and build practical tools for real life. I work by meeting you exactly where you are, taking into account your life, relationships, and environment—not just the problem you’re facing. I use evidence-based approaches like CBT and DBT to help you better understand your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while building practical coping skills. Our work is collaborative, supportive, and paced to fit you I want you to know that whatever brought you here matters. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, stuck, exhausted, or just not quite yourself, you’re not alone—and there’s nothing “wrong” with needing support. So many people carry heavy things quietly, telling themselves they should be able to handle it all. You don’t have to.

I aim to create a safe space for you to bring your whole self to therapy. I have been often told that there is a presence about me that makes folks feel understood. I use evidence-based approaches like CBT and ACT to help you understand and respond to your emotions so that you feel less overwhelmed and more free. I specialize in depression, anxiety, relationship problems, and eating disorders. We will also work together to increase mindfulness and self-compassion. As a member of the LGBT community, I have a special expertise in serving LGBTQ clients as well as poly and kink communities. Whether you are navigating a complicated political climate, reducing shame and growing in pride and self-acceptance, or exploring new pronouns or identity labels, I will be with you all the way!

Right now you may be overwhelmed by spiraling thoughts and debilitating fear -- struggling to process your emotions. People see you as smart and successful, but inside you feel like you're barely hanging on. You’d like to understand yourself more and learn skills that help you feel stronger and healthier. This is the work that I do. I specialize in helping smart, caring women who struggle with anxiety learn to find more balance. Clients who’ve worked with me have reported that they understand themselves better, struggle less, and feel more at ease overall. They've learned to treat themselves with more kindness than criticism, and to shift from self-destructive to life-giving behaviors. They’ve learned to handle their emotions more effectively (especially fear, anger, and sadness), to listen to their own voice (how they feel, what they like, what they want), and to feel more like themselves. People who've worked with me in counseling have described me as gentle, down-to-earth, funny, and flexible. I am thoughtful and love to read, and to bring to my work a lot of skills and stories from varied sources. I’m also artsy and creative, and love to adapt metaphors and strategies that apply uniquely and directly to clients’ lives. As a therapist, I’m not so much interested in “fixing problems” as in coming alongside you to listen and to share honestly what stands out and what might help. I welcome people with diverse backgrounds and identities. I believe in growth and development across the lifespan and that we are *always* in the process of becoming. With nearly two decades of experience and extensive training as a therapist, I am passionate about highlighting women’s voices and stories and feelings. What I love about my work as a therapist is finding ways to help women be exactly who they already are, which I believe, paradoxically, is the path toward healing and change.

I am an University of Tennessee MSSW Intern under the supervision of Toni Kelly. I work with individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, identity issues, and life transitions. During our journey together we would work through a holistic approach, acknowledging how your experiences impact your mind, body, spirit, and emotional well-being. I will work with you to identify your values and beliefs and how they influence your relationships. Your experiences of challenges and successes has guided you to where you are today, and my goal is to build on those successes. I help people who dream about achieving a balance in life, who seek to be their true authentic selves but hold themselves back because of fear, uncertainty or trauma they've experienced. If you are living with this dream, but are currently experiencing depression, anxiety, imposter syndrome or feel as if you lack the ability to cope- I would love to work with you. It is my pleasure to serve individuals of different ethnic backgrounds that may speak English or Spanish. My approach is trauma informed and person-centered. I will support you by building a strong therapeutic relationship and working collaboratively on your goals, so that you may feel empowered to face your personal challenges. I believe that people are their own experts and as a therapist I am there to provide a safe, judgement-free space and assist in the process by incorporating evidence-based techniques and interventions. That's why I hope you give yourself the opportunity to experience therapy and all it has to offer.

When we are changing and growing, we can often feel anxious, overwhelmed, disoriented or uncertain. It is possible to move through the discomfort and regain our sense of empowerment. Experiences in our past can show up in our present relationships, mood, behavior and worldview. Counseling may include a combination of experiential, EMDR, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy. We'll build off your strengths and explore what will be most helpful for you. Weekend and evening appointments available. My beliefs include: There is no such thing as unusual behavior if you know someone's whole story • We don’t exist in a vacuum • Science is real • Black lives matter • Women’s rights and LGBTQ+ rights are human rights • The struggle is real but we don't have to go through it alone • Kindness and social justice are worth fighting for.
